Multiple races use multiple systems to count years, months and days, but the calendar that is used by the humans of the West is the most commonly accepted as standard. This calendar was named after the House of Langfeld, the royal house of Aenín Kingdom.
Years
The Langfeldian Calendar sets the starting point of History at the date when the Kingdom of Aenín officially formed. Everything before that date is labeled BA, or “Before Anselm”, and everything after is labeled AA, or “After Anselm”. See the Aenín Timeline for notable events.
The current year is 863 AA.
Months
There are twelve months in a Langfeldian year. They are:
- Frostfall
- Deepsnow
- Snowmelt
- Firstflow
- Blossomtide
- Highsun
- Goldleaf
- Harvesthaul
- Redfall
- Harrowing
- Whitewind
- Lastlight

Holidays
Sun’s Reach
Sun’s Reach is the traditional end of winter in most of Aenín. It symbolizes the departing of clouds and the cold and the coming of new life and warmth. Celebrated on the 26th of Snowmelt, it is also the holy day of the sun god, Amon. People usually decorate their houses with fresh flowers, as well as wear flowercrowns in their hair.
(The concept of Sun’s Reach was provided by Dael Kingsmill of the YouTube-channel Monarchsfactory, in her video “Realistic Fantasy Holidays”)
King’s Day
King’s Day is a holiday celebrated in most of Aenín at the height of spring. It is traditionally held on the 21st of Firstflow, with this date marking the birthday of Anselm of Aenín, the first monarch of the Kingdom. It features large gatherings and festivals, and often features fireworks.
Abundance Eve
Abundance Eve is a holy day of Tespater, the god of agriculture. It is usually celebrated with large festivals at the height of the harvest, and traditionally falls on the 6th of Redfall. Celebrations include drinking, telling stories, dance competitions and lots of food.
