The Silver Willow is a slender tree native to Shimmervale Forest, a tall subspecies of the willow. It inspired the name of that forest, being easily recognizable with its long, hanging branches and silvery leaves that seem to shimmer in sun- or moonlight. The wood from the Silver Willow is a beautiful silvery grey. Called silverwood by the Elves, it is a popular construction material among them. Their city of Ithildris is built with much of it.
It is difficult to fell a Silver Willow, for they only grow in Shimmervale Forest and are protected by its Dryads. One needs to appeal to the Dryad of a Willow before asking permission to cut it down. This makes Silverwood a rare and sought after material.
